Screwworm Tracker is a free mobile app that helps ranchers, veterinarians, and wildlife professionals report suspected New World Screwworm cases to state veterinary authorities.
You provide: Email, display name, optional professional details (vet license, organization), observation photos, text descriptions, self-assessment responses, and contact information for FAD reports.
Automatic: GPS coordinates during report creation (not in the background), device model/OS for compatibility, and anonymous crash reports via Sentry.
Data is stored on US-based servers (Fly.io), photos in encrypted storage, all transmissions over HTTPS/TLS, passwords hashed with bcrypt.
Account deletion: delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account in the app, or by submitting the form at screwwormtracker.com/delete-account. Accounts are soft-deleted with a 30-day recovery window; after 30 days your personal information is permanently anonymized.
Data export: download a copy of your data via Settings → Download My Data in the app.
You may use the app as a guest, but suspect-case reports require contact information for veterinary follow-up. For other privacy questions, contact support@screwwormtracker.com.
Camera access: only when you actively photograph wounds. Location: only during report creation, not continuously. You may manually place a pin instead.
Not directed at children under 13.
